A second grade class in Maine studied the history of quilts and learned that one reason people used to make quilts was to commemorate important people and places in their lives. As a project, students made small quilts depicting people and experiences they shared during their second grade year together. I was touched that this student included me in his quilt, after a day-long visit to his school. You can see his portrait of "me" in the upper right corner of his quilt.
